HOW LONG CAN I USE PCU PER SESSION?
You have unlimited transaction time but if your connection is inactive for 10 minutes, your session will automatically log off.
IS MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION SECURE?
Yes. Ensuring the privacy and security of your account and personal information is a top priority. We store no member information on our web server that is accessed by the public. Layers of security include automatic sign-off, encryption, firewalls and password lockout:
-Automatic Sign Off: Sometimes you may be using a remote computer when youˇ¦re banking online, so remembering to sign off is very important. However, if you do forget to sign off, PCU will automatically sign off for you after 10 minutes of inactivity. This will prevent anyone from accessing your account.
-Encryption: PCU utilizes different types of technology to ensure the confidentiality of its transactions through the Internet, such as VeriSign 128 bit encryption.
-Firewalls: The credit union is protected by a firewall, which is a barrier between the outside Internet and the internal credit union network. The firewall verifies each network packet and determines whether to permit access. All incoming traffic is actually addressed to the firewall, which only allows pertinent information to flow into the credit union.
-Password Lockout: In order to bank online, you need to know your User ID and your unique password. If someone else is trying to enter a password to view your banking information, he/she won't get very far. PCU allows only 3 chances to enter a password. After 3 failed attempts, it is determined to be fraudulent activity and the account is "locked out" No further log in attempts will be allowed, even if the correct password is entered after the third try. Contact a Campbell Employees FCU representative at 1-800-257-5354 to regain access.
WILL I RECEIVE A RECEIPT FOR TRANSACTION PERFORMED ONLINE?
No. However, you can print your own record of transaction if you have a printer attached to your PC or record the Trace Number of the transaction.
CAN ANYONE ELSE ACCESS MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION?
No. Your online account information is available only through access methods that have been rigorously tested for their secure access. The information is not public. Only you can access it using your User ID and Password. Unless you share your password, no one else can access your account information online.
Security Tips: These tips can help ensure the privacy of your account information:
-Treat your PCU password as you treat your ATM PIN. Do not reveal your Password to anyone.
-Do not write down your PCU Password or leave it in the view of other users of your computer.
-Notify the credit union immediately if you notice any unusual account activity by calling 1-800-257-5354 or 856-486-3250.
-Keep all documents that include your account information in a secure location, including ATM, monthly account statements and your PCU Password.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small files loaded onto a user's PC which "communicate" with a web server. These cookies store a "profile" which lets the web server know certain demographics about the PC being used (possibly hardware components and/or software used) as well as specific "preferences" for the PC user. This allows the web server to custom tailor the content viewed on the web site. This could be to display information obtained from the previous session or to show you what would pertain to your session and not inundate you with graphics or verbiage that you would not be able to use or be interested in. Cookies have expiration dates. Some expire at the end of the session and some expire in 30 years.
DO I NEED TO LOAD SOFTWARE?
No. To use PCU, all you need is access to the Internet and a Web browser--the most current version of Internet Explorer(I.E. 5.0), Netscape Navigator(Net 4.7), and AOL(AOL 5.0).
THE SECURITY MESSAGE "You have requested a secure document" KEEPS POPPING UP. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
PCU is a fully secure application. Each time a new screen is requested, if you have not disabled security warning messages, the browser will display a message. To eliminate the need to confirm each secure page, check off the option to not show the secure warning message.
I AM RECEIVING A MESSAGE THAT "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" OR THAT IT IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN?
PCU ends your session if it has been inactive for more than 10 minutes. If you try to click on any other area of PCU, this is the type of message you will receive. You will still see the last PCU screen you were on because each page, as it is displayed, is copied to your computer's hard drive. This is true of any web page you visit, and serves to shorten your response time on return visits to the site. Images and text are saved so that you don't have to wait for everything to reload when you return to a previously-visited page.
ARE THERE FEES?
No. Access to your accounts through PCU for transfers, inquiries, and withdrawals are free!
WHEN DO TRANSACTIONS POST TO MY ACCOUNT?
Transactions you perform on PCU are live. They will instantly post to your account. On rare occasions we need to put PCU in "Store and Forward" mode; your transactions will post immediately after PCU returns to "Live" mode.
I AM RECEIVING THE MESSAGE "The Internet site you are trying to view uses a security certificate that was signed by an unknown authority. This page cannot be viewed."
This simply means that the browser you are using is of an older version that does not understand the high-level encryption that PCU uses. In order to provide you with a secure connection, you must upgrade your browser to one of those specified above. These updates are usually provided by your internet provider for free.
I AM RECEIVING A MESSAGE ABOUT A JAVA-RELATED ERROR!
You must also make sure that you have selected to make Java active in your browser. In order to use PCU, you must be using a browser that is Java compatible. Java is a computer language some browsers understand. Microsoft Internet Explorer should be version 5.0 or higher; Netscape should be 4.7 or higher. In AOL, you should be using version 5.0 or higher. You must also have selected to make Java active.
I DOWNLOADED THE LAST VERSION OF NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR AND NOW I CAN NO LONGER ACCESS MY ACCOUNT.
The version of Netscape Communicator you downloaded is the international version. This version does not use 128-bit strong encryption. Whenever you download new browser software, be sure to choose the 128-bit strong encryption version. Once you complete the 128-bit strong encryption download, make sure you have Cookies enabled.
I AM USING WEBTV AND CANNOT LOG INTO PCU.
As of December 9, 1999, the WebTV website states:
"What Does the WebTV Browser Support?
The WebTV browser currently supports most Internet standards. Java applet and ActiveX support is scheduled to be available in a future automatic online update to the WebTV client..."
Therefore, PCU is not compatible with the current version of WebTV. PCU uses Java in its pages. Some members using WebTV have been able to access PCU. However we do not currently support this browser. For more information, please refer to the WebTV website.
I USE AMERICA ONLINE (AOL) AND AM UNABLE TO LOG IN. WHAT CAN I DO?
You must use AOL Version 5.0 or higher. Older versions of AOL may use browsers that do not support some of the technology required to use PCU's functions-i.e., security and graphics.
Determine Your AOL Version
-Start the AOL program (you do not need to actually make a connection via the modem).
-Enter "Help" through "About America Online" The version number will be displayed. You must see Version 5.0 higher.
Upgrade Your AOL Version
If you discover that the AOL version number is lower than 5.0, you will need to upgrade your AOL connection:
-Log onto AOL with your modem.
-From your AOL connection, enter KEYWORD: UPGRADE.
-AOL will then provide you with the directions and the process for upgrading your AOL connection.
